 ts to host a 1-hour concert.\n\nStoopSessions are open to the public and f
 ree of charge. Join your neighbors\, pull up your chair or a blanket and e
 njoy local entertainment in the summer breeze.\n\nMarie Alexandre is one o
 f the hidden gems of Chicago vocal jazz. Drawing from her love of modern a
 nd Brazilian jazz\, Marie’s set list includes songs written by many jazz
  instrumentalists. They are given new life with words that\, in some cases
 \, she has penned!\nIn November of 1996 Marie was elected by her peers to 
 the Board of the Chicago Local AFTRA and served one term ending in Novembe
 r 1999. During that same time\, Marie was hosting a vocal jam session VOCA
 LBop\, with a house band that included Steve Million\, Phil Gratteau and v
 arious local Bass players.\nHer many experiences include working with Eddi
 e Higgins\, Dolph Castellano\, Rich Daniels et al. Marie swings hard\, as 
 can be noted by her one and only CD\, entitled YULE FOOL\, a mainly tradit
 ional set of Christmas songs performed in a jazz style. Although she studi
 ed classical piano for many years\, jazz was where her heart sang. Today\,
  Marie can be found performing live in parks and festivals around Chicagol
