When was your last legal check-up? You see a doctor regularly even when we’re not sick. Why not a lawyer when you’re not in a court case. A new local non-profit legal aid, The Legal Wellness Clinic, is partnering with FPPL to bring free legal check-ups to the libraryo on Saturday, December 6 at 9:30 am.
They will ask you a series of questions, then provide you with a Legal Wellness Plan that highlights any areas of concern where the law might impact you, and some referrals for next steps. You will have the opportunity to talk to a licensed attorney about your plan and ask any questions about it. The process takes between 30-45 minutes and is completely free. The check-up will cover these common issue areas: immigration, housing, family, employment/public benefits, debt/credit and future/safety planning.
Participants will be seen first come, first served.
